The touchpad on Dell Inspiron 1545 is so sensive. It locates near the keyboard. Thus, when I typing, it moves the cursor to a wrong place. Disable Dell Inspiron 1545's touchpad on Windows is easy. For Ubuntu, I searched for solution for a month. For that reason, I'm not happy with Dell Inspiron. Luckly, I found a solution at Ubuntu Forums. Go to terminal and type:
sudo modprobe -r psmouse
(to disable touchpad. To enable
sudo modprobe psmouse

This solution works with Ubuntu 10.10
